BOLD RETURNS TO STATE!

The BOLD Mudhens will be making their third appearance at the Minnesota State Legion Division II Tournament in the last six years after defeating Glenwood-Lowrie in the District 7 finals last Saturday. The score the final game was 8-3. Glenwood-Lowrie had forced a second championship game by defeating BOLD 4-3 in the first game of the day. The Mudhens enter state play with a 14-9 record having won 10 of their last 11 games. Tournament activities begin on Thursday July 30 with team check in and the tournament banquet that evening. The first pool game for BOLD will begin at 4:30 on Friday on Chizek Field. The second pool game takes place, also on Chizek at noon on Saturday. Previous appearances at the state tournament cam in 2010 (Glyndon) and 2013 (Bird Island). This year will be the first tournament with nine teams, up from eight, with the addition of District 10-45 to Division II competition. The nine teams will be divided into three pools of three teams each for Friday and Saturday games. The top finishers from each pool and one wild card team will advance to a single elimination tournament on Sunday. The top two finishers will advance to Regional play to be held at LeSeuer-Henderson August 6-9.
